For Diaper Need Awareness Week I Will Begin A Personal Series To Inspire, Motivate, and Foster a Culture of Health and Wellness Where Everybody Belongs!
I'm pregnant with my fourth child, my last one was born almost 9 years ago andas I prepare to give birth , I've spent the last 8 months finding ways to save money and diapers. Diapers will be my childs biggest expense for the next two years probably. I have compared prices at different stores, clipped coupons, and have researched the option for cloth diapers.
Yes, cloth diapers!
Cloth diapers are much different then they were 20 years ago. While I had an interest in cloth diapering with my other children, I really had no resources or support. I would like to cloth diaper this time for environmental and yes of course the financial reasons.
Early in my research I noticed how drastically things have changed, and how much more difficult for new parents to choose the right diaper for them and their baby with the vast amount of brands, materials, and styles available, along with all of the different marketing. No wander parents are steered towards disposables.
For a parent who is new to cloth, the information on modern cloth is a bit overwhelming, for there is A LOT of information out there! As a new mom who is interested in cloth diapering but a little scared and certainly clueless. I tried to read through blogs and info sites but on those sites there is so much information broken into many articles. I felt like I was just getting bits and pieces.
With this, I found modern cloth diapers are a growing trend in the US as we become more conscience of our environmental footprint and our spending. Many new parents are choosing cloth diapers to save money, while others are focused on reducing landfill and providing a natural alternative for their child. Regardless of reasoning for choosing cloth diapers it is important to find the best diaper for you.
Now that I have decided to cloth, the next thing to do is start my "stash." The initial start up cost may be completely out of your budget if not planned. It is advised to plan ahead and start early! Which brings me to my next Passion To Action. Diaper Need Awareness. I have BIG plans for advocating for this cause and would be estatic if you could join me through this journey!
